Woooo!! New Makita drill and impact driver! It’s like Christmas in October. Just don’t tell the missus - I wasn’t supposed to buy these.
Just found a little yellow paint footprint on the tile after I came in from the garage and giggles in the air. #whenToddlersAttack
i'm back
i’ve decided i’m neglecting my blog a bit too much. after some deep, retrospective thought about the matter (usually when i’m spaced out on my drive to or from work), i’ve realized i’m now mostly posting stuff (mostly on twitter) on my iphone. i’m so busy at work, i don’t even have time to post from there.
fortunately, tumblr has an iphone app, so there’s now this convergence. we’ll see how this goes…
the definition of “trying too hard”. this is why microsoft fails. windows 7 is actually a pretty great OS, but with marketing like this, failure is an option. my 15 year old could shoot a better promo video.
fed up
aight. i’ve had it with sandvox. you’d think it would be able to handle 40 meg video files, but it pukes every time i try to upload one. i’ve got iweb ‘09, and i’m itching to use it, so i’m going to convert back to it over the next few days. i should be able to have a re-grand opening of my other site by friday, complete with video.
on a related note, i have noticed some other people haven’t been posting to their blogs as much as they should (kev, this is definitely not aimed at you).
in the meantime, i’m sick, so i’m going back to bed. thank god i had the foresight to take today off…
quitting is for pansies
so it turns out jpg magazine isn’t quitting after all. due to the uproar of the community and the resulting sites that spawned, jpg was able to find a buyer for the site and magazine.
gotta love the power of the interwebs.
i don’t know why, but i’ve run into several different links in the past few days that have just made me laugh, mostly because of the ridiculousness of the content. so, to keep my friend bert…
i realize i’m posting this a bit late, but i’m posting it all the same. i went to a work-related party last night (uh, new year’s eve, at least), and over-imbibed a bit. woke up this morning…
early quitters for 2009
big turn-offs for 2009: people who give up.
while i realize everyone has circumstances beyond their control, i believe some people just decide it’s easier to simply quit, regardless of who they may let down.
for the early entry of 2009: noah grey. now, noah has had a very difficult time of things over the past forever, and i completely respect that. noah and i had become friends in the past year, and i thought i had a handle on who he was. i apparently thought wrong. he’s completely given up, taken down his site, stopped sales of his prints, and stopped emailing. now, i don’t keep a lot of close friends; to be honest, i don’t really need a lot of loose friends, as i don’t really have a lot of time and prefer not to waste it on passing acquaintances. my close friends understand and respect that. noah and i had grown to be pretty close friends and then *pow*, he went off the deep end, shutting himself off from not only his friends, but it seems from the world. WTF, noah?
a close second: JPG magazine. this is (was) one of the best places for amateur photographers to display and get feedback on their photographs. however, it seems they’ve gotten too big from a payroll standpoint and were doing too many things instead of focusing their efforts. now, out of the blue, they’re shutting down not only the magazine, but the site as well. WTF? why not just go back to just the site? it doesn’t take THAT much cash to run the damn thing - ditch the 8 programmers you have on staff, get rid of the “VP of advertising” position, cut down to the original skeleton crew you had, and start over. why quit altogether?
i can’t stand quitters.
as i write this, we’re all getting ready to go downstairs for the present thing. the kids are wired, and the adults are completely exhausted. more on this development later…
i’m running a marathon, i’ve decided. i don’t really have any good reason; i don’t have cancer (thank god), i’m not sick with some rare and incurable disease, and i didn’t have a recent…
